Week 26 Update

A few days after Christmas we had our monthly ultrasound. It is still a boy and a girl, so it looks like they did not make a mistake last time. They are both growing and have doubled in size since our last ultrasound 4 weeks ago. The boy is estimated at 1 lb 14 oz, and the girl is estimated at 2 lbs 2 oz. They commented that these weights are pretty normal. Also, the kids are both head down. You can see their heads below right next to each other (A is the boy & B is the girl). We are keeping our fingers crossed that they stay head down so I don't have to have a c-section.
As for me, you can see I have grown a lot bigger over the last 4 weeks, so much it is kind of unreal that I still have 12 weeks to go! I don't feel a ton bigger which is probably why I was shocked when I saw myself in pictures! But I don't mind getting bigger as it is a sign the babies are growing!! I have been feeling pretty good. I just get tired easily and I cannot do as much as I use to without my back hurting!

We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Under Pressure

We had our monthly ultrasound this week and the pictures below explain the most exciting part of what we found out. Yep, we cracked and decided to find out the gender of each baby - it was just too tempting going every month! We are very excited to be having a boy and a girl! It's the best of both worlds, although this was the only combination where we had not settled on names! (Some arm wrestling might be needed to come up with names!)

The doctor says that both of the babies look great and they are both tracking about the same weight which is what we hope for in each of these monthly ultrasounds. The boy was 15 ounces and the girl was 17 ounces.

I figured I would include a picture of my profile as well for those of you who are interested to see how I look at 21 1/2 weeks pregnant.

Meet Dudley

I would like for all of you who haven't yet met our dog to meet Dudley! Dudley is a funny little boy. He's a Boston Terrier who is quite feisty and always makes us laugh. Here is a minute of our life with Dudley.

Pregnancy Update

Today we had our 18 week ultrasound. The babies are so much bigger now compared to when we last saw them at 10 weeks. They are both about a half pound each and the Dr. says they look great! We were able to stay strong as we did not find out the sex of the babies, even though Ben had a weak moment at the beginning of the ultrasound. Baby B was lying on its tummy and was a bit bashful so the ultrasound technician had a tough time getting as many pictures of B as she did with A. We will get another ultrasound in 4 weeks to check the growth of the babies.

As for the update of me, I have been feeling a little more energetic as of late. Also, it appears that in the last 5 days or so I have "popped" and have found myself in need of more maternity clothes as my shirts seem to be getting smaller.

Indy, Indy, Indy...Part 2!

On Sunday we went up to Pendleton to see our good friends Brooke and Dan Brand (I went to high school and Purdue with Brooke, we go way back). The Brand's just had a daughter (Samantha) in January. Unfortunately, Dan was busy at work. Dan and Brooke own their own business, Brand Photography and Design. Dan was busy at a shoot so we caught up with Brooke and met little Sam. It was great to see Brooke and Sam.
Finally, we went all the way across town to Avon to see our friends The Lubsens. They were nice enough to take us out to dinner before we left.
All in all it was a great weekend. We just wish we lived a bit closer to Purdue so we could go more often.

Indy, Indy, Indy...

Jackie and I went to Indiana last weekend 10/20-10/22. We stayed with our friends Jen and Paul Zink. Jen and Paul just had their first child, Phil, this past summer so this was also our first time to see Phil! Well, the first time we got to see Phil in person. Phil already has his own blog. We got in on Friday night and caught up with Jen and Paul and played with Phil for a little bit before we hit the sack. Saturday was an early morning as we went up to Purdue to see the Boilermakers take on the Iowa Hawkeyes. This was our first game in 3 years and it was Phil's first game ever. Jen and Paul were kind enough to indulge us in some shopping and a quick trek through campus.
We made it to Ross-Ade just as the game got going. We had some sweet tickets (Thanks Paul) in Row 9 on the 50 yard line on the east side of Ross-Ade.
During halftime we met our friends Jamie and Alison Seward, Vin Gahlawat, Dan Gustafson, and Anthony and Adrien(sp??) Dudek. The Boilers ended up kicking the snot out of the Hawkeyes so a good time was had by all!

After we got back to Indy, we also got to see our good friend Jess Trimble who we haven't seen in 3 years!

Ultrasound Pics...

So Jackie said I could put 1 ultrasound pic on the blog. Here it is...at 10 weeks. You can see "Baby B" on the left and "Baby A" on the right. How we decided which was which is unknown to me. You can see the little legs and little arms. B seems to be the shy one and A was jumping all around. We're due for another visit next week but no more ultrasounds until 10/31.

Big News

So most of you have probably already heard the big news but something about putting it in cyberspace makes it seem so official. Jackie and I are having twins!!! Yup, we're both pretty excited, shocked, amazed, and a whole bunch of other emotions. It's pretty shocking knowing you're having your first, and second, child at the same time. We've pretty much adjusted to the fact but I'm sure we have no clue what is in store for us. So this will be a place where you can check up on us and see what's happening. By the way, the kiddies are due in March so just 6 more months to go. Alright well keep checking back...I have a feeling Dudley might have something to say about this "news"
